Finding Hope....
That's what this site is for. Women finding hope. Hope in the midst of turmoil. Hope in what seems like never-ending pain. Hope in what seems like a situation with no hope. Where there is help there is hope. Where there is caring there is hope. Where there is understanding there is hope.
Many have been where you are, including myself. Maybe not the exact same place, person or feelings, but similar. Abuse comes in many different forms. Whatever form it may be, it is wrong and you deserve better. You are worthy of a loving and gentle partner who will treat you with respect and love. Your partner may have told you otherwise but you ARE special! Even the smallest step you make to change your life's circumstances can have a positive effect on your life and someone else's life. You have the power to change your life for the better and there are many of us that have paved the way before you that can help you make that change. Whether you are suffering from verbal, physical, emotional or sexual abuse at the hands of your partner, or someone close to you, YOU ARE NOT ALONE! Make the choice today. Make the choice that you will no longer endure the pain and suffering. Make the choice that you will no longer tolerate any less then you deserve. Reach out to those who are reaching out to you and wanting to help you live the life that you have the right to live. Remember that when you reach out there is understanding, there is caring, and above all there is help. Therefore, there is HOPE!
On this site you will find information to help you through certain aspects of leaving an abusive situation from my own perspective. I have been through this process myself and therefore have first hand experience with the family and criminal court systems. I have used the legal aid system and dealt with lawyers first hand, and I also spoke with the Crown Attorney's office. I have been in a women's shelter, and second stage housing. I have dealt with probation officers and police officers.
I hope to use my experience to help others who are in abusive situations and are trying to get out, or those who have left and are in the midst of any of these situations. I do not offer online help but will include as much information as possible on this site and will add information if needed. I have also included links to websites that will offer information about domestic violence and links for help.
If you learn from your suffering,
and really come to understand the lesson you were taught,
you might be able to help someone else who's now
in the phase you may have just completed.
Maybe that's what it's all about after all...
